2. Dialog will appear to specify the folder (full of FVX files with several layers).

3. After short analysis a dialog box will appear which will show "various" for layer names.


4. At this point you can change the histogram binning common to all cases (fvx files).

5. Press "Features" to select the desire Radiomics features.

6. Note "Working Resolution (mm)" edit box.  Leave default "0" to process layers at their current resolution. 

OR Specify  a different working resolution. All images will be converted to the specified Isotropic resolution (this would not be shown to the User explicitly).

 1. Lung Segmentation : added the "Minimal Slice Thickness" parameter to the dialog and processing. This helps to remove elongated protrusions.

2. Bical NUC:  enabled processing on single slice volumes when other than {VA_BICALSEG_GRAD} style is selected.

3. FVX document load : fixed the defect when "Load Dynamic Model" option = FALSE. This also fixed the defect when BM2 module was not able to update the batch models.

4. Added [MinVal,MaxVal] to the list of "First Order Radiomics features".

5. When outputting the Radiomics measurements : if only the First Order features are specified we don't out the GLMsys and Distance settings.

6. Loading various curves throughout the FireVoxel (several function) : removed the fixed limit {10K} on the number of allowed timepoints.

7. Optimized the LoadTacFile function to accommodate very large number of timepoints. Added the progress bar.

8. Provided menu item "Curve basic measurements".

9. Adjusted Incoherence function to deal with very large number of timepoints  25K+.

10. Added the "Double-normalized Incoherece" and the "Incoherence Period" to the Curve measurements.

11. Enabled loading of the SIEMENS DWI datasets where the b-value is encoded in the SequenceName (0x0018:0024)

 1. Implemented new Workflow:  "Parametric Map Batch Feature Processing". FireVoxel opening the folder containing FVX files. Then common parametric maps are identified. Radiomics feature measurements are performed on all files in the folder and result is placed into TXT file formatted for Excel import.

2. DICOM file loading of b-values:  Included the code check for using the DICOM-recommended tag before proceeding to the Manuf\Model-specific private tags. (Resolved the issue with the Philips\Activa images).

3. Loading an odd Diffusion DICOM set is facilitated by introducing a new option (checkbox) "Combine STUDIES" in DICOM load Dialog Box.

Implemented initial version of the FlexMorph function (based on Flexr3D). Allows to produce morphing between 2 highly non-convex slices.

 New DICOM check and message in the recent Builds:

Each DICOM file is supposed to have an unique SOP Instance UID as explained here:

SOP Instance UID - OTpedia, Information for Medical Imaging (otechimg.com)

However, this is sometimes not a case.

Prior to Build 399 this check was always made and the duplicate SOP Instance UID files were excluded from loading. 

Then in Build 399 a new check was added and if the files with the identical SOP Instance UID are detected the dialog box comes up that offers to remove the duplicate files from loading (but does not delete them physically).

Build 400 is released.

 1. VK_F9 now activates :  Set Projection for this View function.,

2.  Added Slab thickness field to the SetProjection dialog box

3. FVX format v.15 is introduced (due to the change inVA_VOLPROJ structure)

4. VolumeProjection dialog: implemented new functionality {MinIP,MaxIP,AvgIP| with the User-specified Slab thickness. Works on all projections of {UINT,REAL} volumes.



5.  ConvertVolumeRealToInteger:  added parameter Bias and completely parallelized. This function is used in DICOM load.

6.   When DICOM folder contains the files with the duplicate SOP Instance UID, User is given the option to delete the duplicates.

7. New UI function :  MainManu>Measure>Polyline length

Build 399 is released.

 1. Internal : DetectRidges function (principle in MR\CT lung segmentation):  code optimization  and switching to AVX256 led to X4 speed up.

2. Internal: Convolution2D function, when PadDuplicate=false now chooses the lowest value for the entire Volume (previously =0)

3. Ensured that the CT lung segmentation works when Volume is loaded as REAL (HU)

4.When displaying cursor voxel value over the real volume check if the signal is pseudo-real and display the integer format instead.

5. When loading DICOM volume and negative voxel values are present - offer to load as UINT with the bias

 FireVoxel Build 398 is released.

1. Developed a compression scheme for the pseudo-real volumes (Signed integer volumes represented as REAL).  Compression 1:1 matches the corresponding ratios for SINT files.

2. Removed the DICOM load dialog for choosing between the REAL load and UINT load with the bias. Loading of CT files is now done the same way as Mango and 3DSlicer.

3. Rigid HU display on the status bar is removed and HU units are properly displayed.

4. IsMatchingVolume function : extended for quasi-precise comparison with MaxAbsDiff measure and specified Eps tolerance.

Build 396 is released.

1.  Dynamic Experiment : implemented new functionality when there are several ROIs are present and the Voxelwise processing is requested (Process All ROIs voxelwise). Each ROI is processed separately and resulting parametric maps are combined for each output parameter.

2. Dynamic Experiment: internally save parametric maps to layer directly RAM->RAM (avoids the legacy RAM->IM_FILE->RAM construct).

3. Optional DoProgress for Load FVX document.

4. Implemented the Batch Parametric Modelling on the folder of FVX files.

4. LayerControl dialog:  when the Layer is removed, we check and see if the removed volume was Active.  If not, the Active volume remains the same.  Active = 0 otherwise.

 1.  Workflow>Lung (MR)>4D Both Lungs Segmentation using FLEXR MC

added a UI function to segment both lungs in one run, making it easier to process.

2. Processing of 30 lung cases for ISMRM, adjusted the format of lung reports.


4. Volume->Concentration Conversion using T1 map:  fixed the NAN issue that was causing a crash.
     ROI is operational now, so the processing is limited to ROI now.

5. Removed unused function in FvxLoadSave.cpp

1. Lateral Ventricle segmentation : Updated end expanded parameter set, updated the dialog box.

2.  WML segmentation from (FLAIR+MPRAGE):  updated the algorithm to deal with the hollow lesions (GM oversegmentation).  Updated the dialog box.

3. Fixed crash problem with the FLOAT32 NIFTI image.

4. Fixed the defect "Change Resolution New Dimension" support function

5. Implemented new function :  MainMenu>Transform>Change resolution

6. Implemented a new version of FVX file format (#14).  It compresses all the internal DICOM headers together.

Build 393 is released.

 1.  ROI Inflate function (using DrawVic) - parallelized for x4 speed up.

2.  Fixed a "non-initialized memory" defect. When .IM file was loaded the ImagePosition was not initialized, so when it was not 0 - it lead to the resolution calculation failure.

3.  DICOM image crash : fixed situation when sequence element is present but does not contain a value.

4. Implemented the new BiModal Histogram Split dialog (allows both Peak Ratio and optional Mass Ratio)

5. Implemented new Histogram segmentation methods {BiGauss,BiLaplace} ratio constrained including optional mask ratio.

6. New version of WML segmentation tool (from FLAIR+MPRAGE) with the updated GM segmentation based on Mass ratio.

7. Volume registration using DICOM tags:  fixed the defect so that the resulting layers have ViewFilter and the Mark identical to the source layers.

Build 392A is released.

 1. Fixed opening of the Ultrasound DICOM file. This was due to the presence of the VR_AT attribute.

2.  Individual measurement of the Mutual Info (under Measure) menu:  removed multiplication by (-1) which is used in registration task context.

3. Measurement MI: Fixed improper memory free that was causing a later crash because images were deallocated.

4: Dynamic Analysis: Calculate Cross4D Mutual Info items:  moved to under the Measurement Menu.  Removed the (-1) multiplication.

Build 392 is released.

 1. Fixed: Background voxels in NII are assigned value which is Not A Number (NAN = i.e. sequence of bytesthat have no meaning as a floating point number). 

So FireVoxels loads those voxels as VOID.  User has an option to save it back to NII, than FVX shows the dialog "Replace VOID voxels with X".


2. Histogram segmentation:  removed PVV and Zigalga methods from the User interface. They are still used in legacy workflows.


3. Integrated the Gaussian Mixture Models c++ code.  Exposed the GMM model as the HIstogram Segmentation.

4. Removed the PVV and ZIGALGA methods from User Interface.

5. Fixed the crash: Loading a {ANALYZE,IM} file, VROI, Crop.  This was due to the missing Dynamic Coordinates.

6.  AutoFocus4D dialog box. Performed adjustments, removed the Ensemble algorithm option and corresponding fields.

7. Layer Control dialog: "Remove layers" operation: added a check when all layers are unmarked to prevent crash.

8.  Transform>Rotate Orthogonal  :  now transforms all the layers of the Entity.

9.  Transform>Rotate Orthogonal  :  updates the orientation of the new volume correctly..

9. VROI on multilayer entity:  automatically selects the layer with MaxT for use in VROI.

10. Enclose connected component by the VROI now automatically generates the VROI name.

 1. Volume ROI Bit Operations: fixed the crash when non-ROI volume is supplied. Displays an appropriate diagnostics.

2. Updated version of the WML segmentation algorith: added 2 heuristics:

a) sulci of certain depth are excluded

b) narrow isolated channels inside the brain are treated as sulci and are excluded.

3.  Implemented new GUI function : ROI>Morhphology>Extract Holes 3D

4. Corrected a "Lock out" defect in EdgeWave: when the ROI layer is the source operand and the "Average over Seed mode" is default in the parameters, the EW dialog would not appear and inform "invalid operand for this operation".

5. Fixed UI problem:   Brain Segmentation UI used the same parameter variable as the general EdgeWave item. This was causing problems in some complex workflows.

6. Implemented  new UI functions:

Common task, having volume in native projection X, reslice it to a new document in 
one of the major projections {AXIAL,SAGITTAL,CORONAL}

In SetProjection dialog box added 3 buttons to Rotate to major projections  (depending on the UserOptions  RADIOLOGICAL\NEUROLOGICAL )

Added a function to make current projection -> Native.















9. Implemented "Lateral Ventricle Segmentation" including the respective dialog box.

10. Fixed defect: All Rotations under Transform menu: the Alpha of new layers = Alpha of the original layers now.

11. Moved WML functionality to under the Workflows>Brain MR menu. Kept a single function since it works for all native projections.
12. Added the built-in N3 to WML FLAIR workflow.
13. Developed a stand-alone dialog for WML FLAIR segmentation.
